IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING COVID-19

Your health and safety as a valued member of our Planet Fitness community is always our number one priority. We deeply share your concern regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, and have made some changes in our clubs to ensure you receive the best of our services.

Please follow these rules and regulations upon entry to Planet Fitness:

  • YOU MUST WEAR A MASK AT ALL TIMES UNLESS “ENGAGING IN PHYSICAL EXERCISE”
  • YOU MUST SCAN IN WITH YOUR MEMBERSHIP CARD, AND ALSO GOVERNMENT QR CODE ON SERVICE NSW APP
  • KEEP YOUR SOCIAL DISTANCE – 1 PERSON PER 2 SQUARE METRES IN CLUB AT ALL TIMES
  • NO TOWEL, NO WORKOUT
  • DO NOT COME IN IF YOU OR YOUR GUEST PRESENT ANY COVID-19 SYMPTOMS OR IF YOU HAVE BEEN UNWELL
  • YOU MUST WIPE DOWN EQUIPMENT AFTER USE, ANTIBACTERIAL WIPES PROVIDED AT OUR CLEANING STATIONS
  • YOU MUST BOOK INTO ALL CLASSES USING ‘PLANET FITNESS NC’ APP.
  • MUST WIPE DOWN SAUNA WITH ANTIBACTERIAL WIPES AFTER USE.
  • PLANET FITNESS IS FOLLOWING THE NSW GOVERNMENT ROADMAP, SO MEMBERS MUST FOLLOW UPDATED POLICIES AND GUIDELINES TO KEEP THEMSELVES AND OTHERS SAFE.

RE-OPENING FAQ’s

When will the gym/s open? 

Planet Fitness Lambton will re-open on October 11th 2021 for members and new members. 

Monday- Friday: 5:00AM-11:00PM
Saturday: 7:00AM-7:00PM
Sunday: 7:00AM-7:00PM
 

Planet Fitness Charlestown normal hours will re-commence:
Monday-Wednesday: 5:00AM-10:00PM
Thursday-Friday: 5:00AM-9:00PM
Saturday: 7:00AM-6:00PM
Sunday: 9:00AM-6:00PM
 

Planet Fitness Belmont normal hours will re-commence:
Monday-Wednesday: 5:00AM-10:00PM
Thursday-Friday: 5:00AM-9:00PM
Saturday: 7:00AM-6:00PM
Sunday: 8:00AM-6:00PM
 

When do my membership payments restart?  

All memberships will be removed from lockdown freeze on Monday 11th October 2021, and will resume their usual debit cycle on either Thursday 14th October, or Thursday 21st October. Please note, because all memberships were frozen from 5th August to 11th October, all memberships will be extended by the time period during which the business was closed (as per https://planetfitnessnewcastle.com.au/terms-and-conditions/). Please refer to your Member’s Portal for full information on your debit payments and contract end date. For all enquiries regarding payments, contract lengths, and freezes, directly contact the Debit World office at debits@debitworld.com.au
 

Why is my first direct debit payment amount different to my usual fortnightly payment? 

Don’t stress if your first direct debit payment that comes out is not your usual fortnightly membership amount. Due to the sudden closure being on Thursday 5th August, and the re-opening on Monday 11th October, your debiting cycle may be unusual to reflect this. This unusual amount is called a Pro-Rata, and this may occur if your membership was in the middle of a debit cycle upon closure/re-opening.  

 

Will I have to be fully/double vaccinated against Covid-19 to attend the gym?  

From December 15th anyone can attend their gym, regardless of vaccination status.

If I only have one vaccination or am unvaccinated, will I still have to pay my membership? 

If you contacted us, we provided extended membership freezes up until December 15th for anyone in the category of ‘unvaccinated’. You could take your membership off freeze and re-commence any time before this date if your situation changes to be fully/double vaccinated. Please note, the extended time that your membership is frozen is added to your membership end date.

 

Will I have to wear a mask at the gym? 

Yes. Planet Fitness is classified as an indoor facility, so mask requirements are currently in place following the NSW Government guidelines. However, “a mask can be removed if doing other types of physical exercise,” so therefore while you are exercising you can remove your mask. However, you will be required to wear your mask any time you are not exercising (entry, exit, bathroom, walking around the gym ect).

What happens if I requested to cancel my membership during the lockdown? 

All memberships were placed on a freeze during lockdown, and no payments were taken during this time. Cancellations cannot be processed while the business is forcibly closed, and while memberships are frozen. Essentially, via the direct debiting cycle the days August 5th and October 11th come after each other. Please note, the time that the business was forcibly closed, and memberships frozen, will be added to your end of contract date so your membership completes its contractual 26 direct debiting weeks (as per https://planetfitnessnewcastle.com.au/terms-and-conditions/).

I haven’t received a response to my email yet, when can I expect a reply?  

Planet Fitness is experiencing much higher than usual email traffic, and as such any emails can expect an extended wait time. Your email is important to us, and we are trying our hardest to get through them efficiently. If you require immediate assistance from Monday 11th October, you may call the clubs for support.  
 

Are group fitness classes available when the club/s reopen? 

The Urth Training Group Fitness schedules for all clubs will be released for the reopening on Monday 11th October, and will return to our usual booking system via the Planet Fitness NC App. Please note that all timetables will have reduced classes due to instructor availability. 

In compliance with the NSW Health guidelines all classes will have a capacity limit of 20 participants and a face mask must be worn in indoor areas as part of a gym class.

 

Will the PF Spa be available when the club/s reopen? 

The PF Spa will return to usual operation from the reopening on Monday 11th October. We recommend booking the use of Spray Tanning and Sauna through Reception. Go on, treat yourself to some relaxation (you deserve it).  

 

What is Planet Fitness doing to keep members safe? 

We are following all the rules and regulations from the NSW Government roadmap in order to keep members safe. We have a Covid Marshall at all times to monitor members and make sure they are adhering to these, and we have also added extra staff cleaning shifts. We will be following the 1 person per 4-meter square restriction on capacity, and recommend members continue to socially distance. Members will be required to wipe down their equipment after use with the antibacterial spray and wipe stations that are placed around the gym. If a member does not adhere to all rules and regulations as mentioned in the FAQ, their membership may be terminated.
