Meet Belmont’s latest More Than a Numbers, Jayde & Lacey!

Status

J: Mum / casual work.

L: Full time work.

Have you always been involved in fitness or exercise?

J: Yes, I played sports rather than the gym.

L: Yes, I have played netball and other sports my whole life. I’ve always been an active person.

Did you have a goal when you first joined Planet Fitness?

J: Yes I needed to change my lifestyle and lose my post pregnancy weight.

L: Yes to lose holiday kilos, get stronger, and maintain my fitness.

Have you achieved what you originally set out to do?

J: Not yet but I’m well on my way.

L: Yes and no. My goals are always changing and I keep going on extended holidays and then starting from scratch.

What was your perception of gyms/health clubs before you joined? Has it changed after joining Planet Fitness?

J: My perception has definitely changed, it’s a community and I love that John keeps us all going.

L: Gyms always seemed intimidating and a little scary. Planet is so welcoming, the staff are awesome and it’s got a great community vibe. We train hard but have fun.

What are your fitness goals for the future?

J: To keep going to the gym because I want a big arse booty and to be healthy.

L: Maintain a healthy weight, have a good balanced lifestyle, and lift heavier than Jayde.

Biggest obstacles you have had to overcome on your fitness journey?

J: The ups and downs of fitness, it’s not all ups.

L: Food. Bad choices. Accountability with food. Cake. Chocolate. Having a YOLO attitude with food.

Do you have sources of inspiration? If so what are they?

J: My husband and Lacey, she pushes me to do better and work harder.

L: I’m pretty good at motivating myself, but I’ve got my best friend/ gym buddy Jayde to kick my arse when needed.

What advice do you have for those who are thinking of joining Planet Fitness?

J: Do it, you won’t look back.

L: Do it. You’ve got nothing to lose and lots to gain.

What is your weekly fitness regime?

J: I do 1 hour workouts 6 days a week plus team sports three nights a week.

L: A mix of cardio and weight training 5-6 times a week. Love a good HIIT, Spin, or Body Pump class.

Favourite quote?

J: “Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that.” Martin Luther King

L: “No pain. No gain. Shut up and train.”
