Meet Belmont’s latest More Than a Number, John!

Status

Retired.

Have you always been involved in fitness or exercise?
Yes, for the last 30 years at least.

Did you have a goal when you first joined Planet Fitness?
To maintain a level of fitness that gives me a good quality of life. I’m still vain enough to think I can still look good.

Have you achieved what you originally set out to do?
I continually set goals but get lazy and have to restart does get harder as you get older but I receive plenty of encouragement from staff at Planet Fitness.

What was your perception of gyms/health clubs before you joined? Has it changed after joining Planet Fitness?
My perception has always been good but I feel staff like Kylie, Jack and all the guys really make this a good feeling gym. I have made a lot of friends here which is part of the appeal for me.

What are your fitness goals for the future?
To work harder and stop making excuses.

Biggest obstacles you have had to overcome on your fitness journey?
Alcohol and good tasting food.

Do you have sources of inspiration? If so what are they?
The mirror. All the staff and friends at Planet.

What is your weekly fitness regime?
I go to the gym 5-6 days a week and go walking 3-4 days a week.

Favourite quote?
“Too many of us are not living our dreams, because we are living our fears.”
