Have you always been involved in fitness or exercise?
Competitive swimming was my life when I was young, training approximately 70km per week. In my 20’s and 30’s I trained at Howzat Sport & Fitness doing aerobics, circuit classes, and weight training 5 days a week.
Did you have a goal when you first joined Planet Fitness?
Mainly to lose weight, tone up, and get physically stronger.
Have you achieved what you originally set out to do?
I’ve only recently joined up here at Planet Charlestown. Brock has designed a program for me to strengthen my core, lower back, and free up my hips/glutes. At last I’ve got some direction in my training instead of just going through the motions.
What was your perception of gyms/health clubs before you joined? Has it changed after joining Planet Fitness?
I’ve been going to gyms over the past 30 years. I like it at Planet as it is very convenient, not too big and the staff are very friendly.
What are your fitness goals for the future?
To lose weight and get stronger so I can feel more confident.
Biggest obstacles you have had to overcome on your fitness journey?
Biggest obstacle is always being focused and committed to my training.
Do you have sources if inspiration? If so, what are they?
My wife and I joined up on the same day so we can train together. This will help us to stay motivated.
What is your weekly fitness regime?
Based on the program Brock prepared, I come to the gym and do 30 minutes cardio, followed by floor exercises for my back and hips, then weights. I play golf and go for a swim weekly.
