Meet Gosford trainer, Ashleigh!

How long have you been involved in personal training and what made you decide to start?
I have been involved in personal training for over four years. I have always loved fitness since I was a teenager and regularly trained myself and my friends and family as a hobby, I then decided to do it professionally.

Do you have a current goal that you’re working towards?
I have a fitness business idea and personal fitness goals to develop 5kg muscle in the next few weeks.

What are your biggest highlights and achievements of the year so far?
I have moved to the Central Coast and built up a clientele through my personal business.

What are your biggest obstacles you have had to overcome on your fitness journey?
I had to overcome losing weight drastically due to getting the flu at the start of the year. It was a set back as I recently put on a lot of muscle,
so I have to start over again.

Has your fitness routine changed since you started personal training? If so, what have you done differently and why?
My fitness routine is constantly changing as I’m always interested in creating and trying new things out and testing my body.

Have you found that group/personal training has allowed you to develop new relationships/friendships?
Yes, I have developed a lot of connections with like-minded people.

What was your perception of group training or personal training before you started working in the industry? Has it changed?
My initial perception that it was the same at 1on1 PT but an extended version with more people. I think it varies or changes depending on the trainer
but overall still pretty standard.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to improve his or her fitness, but isn’t sure where to start?
I’d recommend a consult and a chat about their history and gauge from there what advice to give. I’d also recommend a session with myself or another personal trainer so that they are given guidance.

Weekly Fitness Routine:

My weekly fitness routine changes… this week I am doing weight training mixed with light cardio.
