Yes, I was very much involved with Martial Arts for many, many years, as well as kick boxing. Both training and instructing.

Did you have a goal when you first joined Planet Fitness?
Yes, to get my quality of life back due to a number of medical conditions. It caused mobility problems which caused weight gain. So my initial goal was to lose weight and with the help of my personal trainer Hayley I have lost 17.6kg in three months. Which is a great result for both of us.

Have you achieved what you set out to do?
On the way to it, it’s a work in progress.

What was your perception of gyms/health clubs before you joined? Has it changed after joining Planet Fitness?
No real perceptions, everyone I have spoken to since becoming a member of Planet Fitness I have found to be friendly and obliging.

What are your fitness goals for the future?
To lose a total of 40kg ad maintain an acceptable level of fitness for my age, I’m no longer a young man.

Biggest obstacles you have had to overcome on your fitness journey?
Basically “PAIN”. I have good days and bad days due to wear and tear on my body over the years but I always remain positive.

Do you have sources of inspiration? If so what are they?
Yes, the weigh in at the end of each week and the inspiration is seeing the weight dropping.
